Yes, it is purely for social reasons. The people in “high places” do not see themselves as addicts. As physicians, for example. Alcoholism is addiction, plain and einfach.Darüber, I’m an alcoholic, even if I do not have a drink in eight years. I do not consider it a “disease” at all. Cancer is a disease. Nobody made me large amounts of alcohol in the inclination of the neck. Call alcoholism a disease is an insult to people who are really sick. It’s an addiction.

Each type of drug abuse is an addiction. Some people tend to, and it does not matter what drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, food. Imo it is a disease in all cases.

  2. BoyRacer says:

Only the text of someone from the AA, its not necessarily the outcome of a nation! Alcoholism (in my opinion) is something you could slip over the years, while heroin is something that is a choice with only one outcome – the addiction. The vast majority drink responsibly and not addictive – as many heroin addicts can tell, dass

  3. jaleeljoseph says:

All drug abuse is the same. Just another addiction.

  4. Morey000 says:

Alcoholism is certainly an addiction, but if people want to have the problem, call it a disease because it is easier for them to deal with it, good job with me. Heraus.Beachten help you, addiction is a genetic predisposition, it is a case be made that many addicts are really a different physiology.

I do not really supposed to be an accepted drug, alcohol, the only difference, but one thing is certain, that both are a nightmare state

  7. Truly Madly says:

People with alcoholism annoy me. I have a friend who is an alcoholic, but cares to admit it …. He has gout and many other diseases, but because he is drunk by 20pints day for 30 years, he thinks he is invincible. I have no patience with nonsense and spiritual allusions and sarcasm supposedly after a few drinks. If he wants to kill himself slowly with the drink, it can, but I will not pity, because it affects those around him by the offensive and suggestive. A heroin addict is obviously less likely to affect those around him, if he steals or is socially unacceptable in some other way. So yes, I believe that social attitudes play a role, but at the end of the day and drinks heroin addicts are probably the two might be killed sooner or later. I think this should be seen not as victims, both as a way to stop addiction in the first place, or stop if it starts to affect their health. Unfortunately, they often decide not to. As a smoker myself, I fully accept the consequences of my actions and do not see myself as a victim, but I either impose my habit on others.

  9. GER C says:

I fought drug and alcohol abuse for years and have been clean for 8 years from two. The disease is in both cases, the dependence I tar both with the same brush, addiction is difficult, no matter what you’re hooked. I am a victim to addictions, I got rid of them with medication and counseling, and not go to AA or NA, but I have great respect for how they can be created for solve the problems of both. I do not believe that God has something to do with my addiction. I do not know if this can help you in any way, but that’s how he sees these addicts …….. change ……….. Truly Madly, you have no idea at all, is not it? I hope those cigarettes that do currently addicted to, is that your early death. You can not go up to your addiction, do not worry if you might be able one day, and you will then realize that you are not so bitter about the problems of other people that you are now .. …… …. change …………… have a star that the big question.

  10. Maurice B says:

Searches for all materials are technically disease when they interfere with normal functioning and healthy. There are two types of addiction, physiological and psychological Abhängigkeit. In the first, the body receives the substance in question must, and experience all sorts of unpleasant withdrawal symptoms if she does not get it (illness, sweating, tremor , panic attacks, DTS, etc). The second person can not function normally if they have a regular dose of the substance, and they depend for them through social norms kommen.Aber days, in fact, contradictory, and it is often said that if alcohol or tobacco were presented today, it would probably be controlled drugs.

  11. khuskey2u says:

In my opinion leaders addiction is not a disease, it is actually a choice. I know it is inflated, it is a disease and blah blah and most people do not like what I say about me, but .. If you think about it completely, for example .. You can choose a drug, if you want to try alcohol, nicotine, heroin, etc. .. If you like you decide to use more .. yes, there are certain drugs, when you get out of them try to suffer from moderate to severe symptoms of withdrawal due to their consumption of alcohol is one of them wants, but the point is .. Most people who abuse drugs have addictive personalities, and with AA, I think that people who are very involved with AA replaced a range of drug only after a row and says addiction is a disease that is open just a crack in the door as you try to close because they said relapse is possible, she suffers a relapse .. Telling a person (who is in his lower frame of mind) that it is never overcome ridiculous choice …. they need to be taught or teach you how to assert themselves in this lifestyle, they know that change yourself the power to change led to the way they live is not someone or something else. If you wake up in a disease like cancer and you do not leave the door only days to say yes, I’ll go try some on Cancer has .. or do I need an update of my lupus … and so on. The point is, dependence, a choice .. You must be a choice unaddicted what a big change in life and in case you have not noticed many people can not change or changes will therefore face the choice of their addiction with another addiction to replace or keep up their old habits. . There is a spirit, that .. You have to want to accept the use and need that big changes need to be taken by itself, lifestyle and ways of thinking. Talk to someone they always this “disease” they will never change completely, and always think things like “hey I’m an addict, but I have x amount of years clean” or “hey, I will always be a drunk, but I did not have a drink in 20 years “… This is to prevent moving them with great success and always a new spirit of change and human health through the provision altogether …. There are people who have done this without AA and so .. some people need a boost in support restructiong how they think .. But telling people they have a disease or illness prevents them from really escape and completely change this state of mind .. I’m not trying to be rude .. I did this from my own experience with drugs in the past and I thought later, when I saw my mother murdered with heroin for 15 years until the last day, where their choice of using this medicine finally took us ..

  12. Ewan M says:

The only difference is one of legality. Alcohol makes money for the government and legal money to the criminals and heroin is illegal. Or substance abuse is destructive and difficult to escape (because I know .. and .. done’em times in the past). It is a medically recognized fact that addiction is a disease, although some prefer to call it a state. The symptoms are the same regardless of the substance is used, no matter the name or label to the person or his.her disease / condition is added.

  13. carr7853 says:

No difference. You can come about in different ways and are definitely perceived differently by the world, but an addiction is an addiction. If you have to do, it’s not a habit or a hobby more, you are hooked.

  14. Nicky200 says:

As an alcoholic who had used drugs, I can tell you, the only difference is the method by hand on things. Addiction is addiction, regardless of the substance.
